The Grand Feast, nestled at 854 Amsterdam Ave in New York, is quickly gaining recognition as a standout American restaurant on the Upper West Side. Patrons rave about the warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for everything from casual family dinners to romantic date nights. Gerard Rodriguez captures the sentiment perfectly, describing it as a "real gem" that outshines the typical tourist traps.
The menu is a delicious exploration of flavors. Customers like Eduardo Cruz highlight the juicy steak and perfectly cooked salmon, while Cheryl Hoover sings praises for the beet salad and mashed potatoes. The standout dish appears to be the Beef Bourguignon, noted for its rich flavor and a comforting base of mashed potatoes, as pointed out by the perceptive Matt M.
With attentive service that ensures your glass is always full and dishes that leave a lasting impression, The Grand Feast excels in providing an exceptional dining experience. Many reviewers also appreciate the infusion of Dominican flavors that the owners bring to the table. In a city teeming with dining options, The Grand Feast reminds us that sometimes the best meals come from neighborhood treasures, not high-end labels. Don’t miss the warm bread and dessert, both described as must-tries!

We were staying at a nearby Airbnb and decided to roll the dice on the neighborhood spot instead of hitting one of the big tourist restaurants, and we’re so glad we did. The Grand Feast absolutely delivered. Everyone at the table had a fantastic meal, the service was attentive, and the vibe was perfect for a relaxed night out. A real gem on the Upper West Side.

This is a great place. Great people and nice casual restaurant. Food is amazing and fresh. Nice flavor and great portions. Steak was juicy and tender perfectly cook. The Salmon dish was great. Ribs were amazing and the sauteed Brussels sprouts delicious. Also dessert is a must. Family and I were pleased with everything.

When you want a meal that comes out amazingly delicious starting with the warm bread and buttter. Beet salad was the best I’ve ever had. Steak was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were cooked to perfection! I would recommend to the owners on getting Moscato on the wine list. Five Stars!!

Might be the best restaurant on UWSide north of Columbus Circle (ignoring REALLY pricey places I have not been to). It is about 3 years old, food quality has always been high, price relatively low, but of course higher than then. Wine and beer. Last night we had duck, steak, beef bourguignon, and seafood pasta. Small, friendly, all excellent.

I usually start out my reviews with giving a little bit a flavor on the service, ambience, and parking. At the grand fees, two of these were very good., and the third well let’s just say most of New York City must face the same thing. I'm not from New York, so parking is a little intimidating, so I Uber there and back . But it certainly was worth a trip.. the service was so friendly and kind, my water glass always was filled, food came and left the table without me noticing and everything else you think of with excellent service. Another decor, that’s a different story. There were some lights, green lights, actually, around the bar. And overall, it was a little mix, but you come for the food anyway.. it’s certainly a good date night spot. Here's my take on the food Fried calamari - perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Truffle fries - cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. Brussel sprouts - really well done, a very delicious side. Penne ala Bodka - very simple, but to perfection, really delicious. Green pea truffle risotto - I gotta tell you my first bite, I wasn't sure what I was eating, because the taste of the pee was so heavy. But when I figured out what I was eating, I realize this was a very special dish, that had not gotten anywhere else in the world.. Beef Bourguignon - served over mashed potatoes, this was a very rich and satisfying dish. I would order it again 10 times.. Crispy skinned fried chicken - now this one threw me because the chicken was fried, but the skin was like you would see on a crispy duck dish that you get at your favorite Thai restaurant. Except this wasn't a Thai restaurant, it was the grand feast, and the chef told me he was actually going for that same flavor and texture that you get from crispy duck, and he succeeded.. It was a real surprise, and it was a delicious. The owners are from the Dominican Republic, and you can see some of the flavors come from those roots. But the food was so good and a grand feast it was.

Oh my goodness, this restaurant! It was my birthday yesterday and I was ill prepared this year for festivities. At the last minute my husband and I checked out The Grand Feast. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent (Continental and American fare with a few surprises), the atmosphere was old school with gentle jazz in the background, soft light and candles, and Iris, our waitress, was amazing! She handled 16 covers all by herself, flawlessly and effortlessly. No one felt neglected. I have included pictures of our meal and celebration. We had: Lamb Burger w/ Parmesan Truffle Fries (special fries for my birthday, the burger normally comes with regular fries) Gnocchi with Italian Sausage, Spinach and Tomatoes A side of sauted Broccoli Rabe A bottle of Chateau Bonnet - a lovely red Bordeaux blend Chocolate Lava Cake They also put a candle on my cake and played special birthday music to announce the occasion. My husband and I will be back to this local gem!

Agreeing with another review that says the spot could use a makeover, but the food was great! The New York strip and gnocchi were both so solid. Truly felt like a local restaurant, which I always appreciate. Would recommend!

Lamb burger tasty and not too strong. Tuna tartare had the perfect spicy kick. Halibut special (parsnip puree !! Yum) and duck l'orange highly recommend. Kale salad had perfect texture.
